Program Details

This program is centred on Indigenous practices that foster harmony, well-being, and healing. The IMHD promotes a holistic understanding of the balance between mind, body, heart, and spirit based on the Blackfoot worldview. Students will gain in-depth knowledge of intergenerational trauma, psychological disorders, and the effects of colonialism on community self-esteem, family dysfunction, and addictive behaviour. Yet, the program's focus will be on intergenerational resilience, traditional healing, as well as Blackfoot beliefs, ceremonies, and cultural practices that promote fulfilling relationships. The program is open to Niitsitapi people throughout the Blackfoot Confederacy, other Aboriginal populations, and non-Indigenous individuals.
